(WEST CHARLOTTE, NC) – The Knothole Foundation is proud to host a special National Night Out celebration at the Richard “Stick” Williams Dream Fields and Education Center on Tuesday, August 5 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., bringing the Charlotte community together for an evening of fun, unity, and friendly competition.
One of the many highlights of the night will be a spirited on-field scrimmage baseball game between teams from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) and Charlotte Fire Department (CFD) — a showcase of camaraderie and community connection beyond the badge and the firehouse.
National Night Out is an annual event that strengthens relationships between neighbors, community organizations, and public safety personnel. The Knothole Foundation is thrilled to provide a family-friendly environment where residents can meet local heroes, enjoy great food, and celebrate the vibrant spirit of Charlotte.
Highlights Include:
- Free event
- Hot dogs and refreshments
- CMPD vs. CFD baseball scrimmage
- Family activities

About the Knothole Foundation
The Knothole Foundation of the Carolinas is dedicated to enhancing the lives of youth by increasing access, skills, and opportunities through baseball, softball and educational programming. Emphasizing the role of athletics in character development, teamwork, and resilience, Knothole helps kids see, play, and apply the game to improve their quality of life. Key initiatives focus on offering transformative athletic experiences through baseball and softball instruction, developing athletic skills, and partnering with community organizations to provide educational resources for younger students. We aim to promote diversity in baseball while building a community of sponsors and donors dedicated to the future of our youth.
