WEST CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Knothole Foundation will bring learning, creativity, and family fun together during its first-ever Mascot STEAM Event on Saturday, June 20 at 4 p.m. at the Richard “Stick” Williams Dream Fields and Education Center, located at 7531 Tuckaseegee Rd. in Charlotte, N.C.

The interactive event will introduce youth and families to the exciting world of Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) through the power and creativity of mascots. Designed to inspire curiosity and imagination, the event will feature mascot-themed activities, hands-on learning opportunities, entertainment, and engaging experiences!

Date: Saturday, June 20
Time: 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Cost: FREE
Recommended Ages: 10-14 years old

Hosted by Mascot Hall of Fame Executive Committee Member Joby Giacalone, the event highlights how mascots can serve as a powerful vehicle for education, inspiration, and community engagement.

In addition, Knothole is thrilled to welcome former major league mascots — Dave Stogdill and Brett Rhinehardt.

“Mascots create excitement, connection, and unforgettable experiences for young people,” stated Tommy Viola, Knothole’s Chief Communications Officer. “This event combines that energy with STEAM education to encourage creativity, teamwork, innovation, and learning in a fun and engaging environment.”

The event is free and open to the public. Registration is now open here: REGISTER TODAY.

This special event is part of the Knothole Foundation’s continued mission to increase youth access, diversity, education, and opportunity through sports and community programming.

The Mascot STEAM Event is expected to bring together families, educators, community leaders, and mascot enthusiasts for an evening focused on education, inspiration, and fun.
