WEST CHARLOTTE, N.C. —The Knothole Foundation is excited to announce a FREE Youth Baseball & Softball Clinic featuring former Major League Baseball star Otis Nixon on Saturday, May 23 at the Richard “Stick” Williams Dream Fields & Education Center in Charlotte.

With May being Mental Health Awareness Month, the Knothole Foundation will combine baseball and softball with a special discussion around Mental Health Awareness during this clinic. This FREE clinic will take place from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM and is open to boys and girls (ages 6-12) looking to learn the fundamentals of the game, improve their skills, and enjoy a positive experience centered around teamwork, leadership, and community.
This clinic will once again be led by Knothole Foundation Programming Directors, Coach Lew (Matthew Corlew) and Coach G (Gerlea Patton).
OTIS NIXON
In addition, the Knothole Foundation will welcome 17-year MLB veteran Otis Nixonto the clinic from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Nixon stole 620 bases over the course of his memorable baseball career with 478 of those steals coming during the 1990s (the most during that decade of any MLB player). He played for nine major league teams from 1983-1999. Nixon, a native of Evergreen, NC, was a key member of the Atlanta Braves from 1991-1993. He swiped a season-high 72 bases for the Braves in 1991.

PUBLIC MEET & GREET
Immediately following the clinic, all fans that come out to The Stick will have the chance to meet Otis Nixon, who will host a special public Meet & Greet from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. For just $15, attendees will receive one autograph (on your item) and one photo (on your phone) with Nixon. Kids 12 and under are FREE for the meet-and-greet experience.
