[WEST CHARLOTTE, NC] — The Knothole Foundation is proud to announce several exciting additions to its leadership and advisory teams — each bringing exceptional expertise, passion, and vision to help strengthen our mission of expanding access to baseball and youth development across our communities.
New Programming Lead Joins Knothole to Expand Creative and Community Initiatives

The Knothole Foundation is pleased to welcome Matthew Corlew as Director of Baseball Programming. With deep roots in both player development and community engagement, Corlew will oversee all aspects of Knothole’s baseball initiatives, including camps, clinics, and player education programs designed to make the game more accessible to youth of all backgrounds.
A Florida native, Corlew was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 23rd round of the 2019 MLB June Amateur Draft. Corlew was drafted out of North Broward Preparatory School, where he distinguished himself as one of the top high school prospects in the state. He later was recruited by Queens University of Charlotte, contributing as both a player and as a graduate assistant coach. Corlew completed his Masters in business while playing and coaching under head coach Jake Hendrick. His collegiate experience, combined with professional insight and a passion for mentorship, positions him to build programs that inspire the next generation of athletes both on and off the field.
New Board Member to Help Guide Strategic Direction

The Knothole Foundation also welcomes Broadus Roberson to its Board of Directors. Roberson currently serves as a Business Analyst for 23XI Racing, where he supports data-driven strategy and operational performance for one of NASCAR’s most dynamic organizations. His analytical mindset, paired with a strong belief in community-focused leadership, will play a pivotal role in guiding Knothole’s long-term strategic planning, governance, and growth.
A graduate of Queens University of Charlotte, Roberson earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in 2022 while competing as a member of the Queens University Baseball Team from 2020 to 2022. His experiences as both an athlete and business professional bring a valuable dual perspective to Knothole’s mission — balancing the heart of the game with the rigor of sustainable development.
Special Advisors to Provide Strategic Counsel and Thought Leadership
To further strengthen its foundation for growth, the Knothole Foundation has appointed Dillon Lewis and Isaiah Bennett as Special Advisors. Both Lewis and Bennett bring a shared history with Queens University baseball and a forward-looking vision for how sports can be a platform for opportunity and impact.

Lewis, a former standout collegiate athlete, was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 13th round of the 2024 MLB June Amateur Draft. Recognized as one of the organization’s top prospects, Lewis showcased his talent this season across two minor league levels — Low-A Tampa and High-A Hudson Valley — hitting 22 home runs and driving in 79 RBIs. Beyond his on-field achievements, Lewis is known for his leadership and commitment to mentoring younger athletes, making him a natural fit to advise Knothole on athletic development and community partnerships.

Bennett, a former pitcher for Queens University, was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 36th round of the 2019 MLB June Amateur Draft. After his playing career, Bennett transitioned into the sports business world, where he currently serves as Digital Platforms Coordinator for Charlotte FC, helping one of Major League Soccer’s newest franchises grow its fan engagement and digital presence. His unique blend of athletic and digital expertise will help Knothole enhance its storytelling, outreach, and engagement strategies. Isaiah is also a co-founder of the Two-Six Project, a nonprofit that serves marginalized youth to provide exposure, resources, and opportunities through intentional programming and scholarship.
A Shared Vision for Growth and Impact
Together, these four leaders — Corlew, Roberson, Lewis, and Bennett — embody the spirit of the Knothole Foundation’s mission: to create inclusive opportunities, foster community connections, and use baseball as a vehicle for character, leadership, and lifelong learning. Their addition marks an exciting chapter for Knothole as the organization continues to grow its reach and deepen its commitment to youth empowerment through sport.
