[WEST CHARLOTTE, NC] — The Knothole Foundation is excited to partner with New Age Flag Football to host the “Queen City Showdown”, a community flag football event taking place on Saturday, December 6 at the Richard “Stick” Williams Dream Fields and Education Center from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The event is a perfect fit between the two organizations as it will bring together youth, families, and community supporters for a day of competition, sportsmanship, and celebration.

In addition to this exciting day of flag football at The Stick, which will bring teams of boys and girls together (K-HS), the Knothole Foundation will also host a special Food Drive to collect food for needed families this holiday season. Anyone interested in donating food at this event can drive up to 7531 Tuckaseegee Rd. between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 6 and a member of the Knothole Foundation will collect your item. These items will then be distributed to students in need before the holidays.

For more information, including a full list of items that will be collected, please visit: https://knotholecarolinas.org/holiday-food-drive/

“We’re thrilled to open up our facility to bring families together for a fun day of flag football,” stated Tommy Viola, Chief Communications Officer at the Knothole Foundation. “This is a new and exciting event for us to host, and we can’t wait to see everyone out on our turf field for a great day in West Charlotte. We are also proud to be able to host this day and collect many important items for those in need this holiday season.”

New Age Flag Football will lead all game operations, coaching support, and player engagement, helping ensure a fun, competitive, and structured environment for all participants. This event coincides with the ACC Football Championship, which will take place later that night at Bank of America Stadium. Winners at the event will receive recognition later that evening at the game.
