On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, the Knothole Foundation held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the new turf field ahead of the home opener for the Queens University softball team. Queens played host to North Carolina A&T State University in a doubleheader.

As part of the festivities, the Knothole Foundation welcomed Ericia Turner (Executive Director of Athletics for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools) to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Knothole Foundation co-founder Morris Madden sang the National Anthem.

A truly special day in West Charlotte!
