(WEST CHARLOTTE, NC) — The Knothole Foundation, in partnership with the Salute to Heroes Charlotte Foundation, is proud to announce that the 92nd Annual Charlotte Chief’s Cup Baseball Game will now take place on Saturday, November 14 at the Richard “Stick” Williams Dream Fields and Education Center in Charlotte. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, September 12, but heavy rain postponed the game that day.

This historic game will feature the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD Blue Hornets) against the Charlotte Fire Department (CFD Blaze) baseball teams in an exciting nine-inning contest. The game dates back to the 1930s in Charlotte, NC and is returning to the Queen City for the first time since 2021.

First pitch of the game is set for 4:00 p.m. and gates to thisfamily-friendly event will open at 2:00 p.m. The Richard “Stick” Williams Dream Fields and Education Center is located at 7531 Tuckaseegee Road, Charlotte, NC 28214.

General Admission tickets to this game are just $10 (bleacher seating and standing room areas), while Reserved Seating tickets are just $20 (there are only 200 reserved seats currently available to the public).

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here: 92nd Annual Chief’s Cup Tickets.

All applicable taxes and fees are included in the advertised ticket price. Kids 12 and under are free to attend.

The Salute to Heroes Charlotte Foundation will be accepting donations throughout the evening to continue its mission to help support first responders. Additionally, fans will want to come hungry and thirsty as many delicious food options and drinks will be available to purchase.

A longstanding tradition celebrating community, competition and the connection between baseball and local leadership, the Charlotte Chief’s Cup will once again bring together players, families, community members and supporters for a special day at the home of the Knothole Foundation, a place that serves community members of all ages.

This year’s game returns to Charlotte for the first time in five years after spending the previous three years at Atrium Health Ballpark in Kannapolis, NC at the home of the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers. It was last held in Charlotte in 2021 at Truist Field, home of the Charlotte Knights.

Salute to Heroes Charlotte Inc. is a 501-C(3) non-profit organization formerly known as Great Balls of Fire Inc. In May 2020, the foundation’s name changed to align more closely with the organization’s growth. While the foundation’s mission – supporting first responders and their families in times of need – has not changed, the COVID-19 pandemic brought additional opportunities to help support our Frontline Heroes.
