Knothole Foundation to Host Opening Weekend at The Stick – February 13-15

(WEST CHARLOTTE, NC) — The Queens University of Charlotte baseball team will open its 2026 season at home at the Richard “Stick” Dream Fields and Education Center on Friday, February 13 against Navy. First pitch of Friday’s opener is set for 4:00 p.m. The two teams will play a three-game series from Friday through Sunday in West Charlotte.

As part of the Opening Day celebration, the Knothole Foundation will be partnering with Veterans Bridge Home to welcome local Military Veterans throughout the weekend. Additionally, Knothole will be partnering with Charterhouse Cigar & Barrel, who will be providing concessions for purchase on site throughout the weekend. 

As part of Friday’s home opener, the Knothole Foundation will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil its new turf infield, which was installed over the offseason. On Saturday night, the Knothole Foundation will be celebrating Queens Baseball during a formal event. On Sunday, the Knothole Foundation will be hosting a special “Celebration of Heroes” softball tournament presented by AstroTurf. The Knothole Foundation is also thrilled to partner with Stinger Sports for Sunday’s event.

“The new turf infield at The Stick will be a true game-changer for the Knothole Foundation as we continue to provide access and opportunities for underserved youth in West Charlotte through a focus on baseball and softball instruction, academic support and life skills development,” stated Tommy Viola, Knothole Foundation Chief Communications Officer.
